Sailing Information

The engine is easy to control using the throttle and tiller. The throttle can be used to move both forward and backward.
A fire extinguisher can be found in the designated spot. It is only allowed to be used in case of a fire. In such an event, immediately call the fire department and notify Terrasboot.
Safety is the top priority, do not take risks.
Always sail starboard (right) at a speed that does not create bothersome waves. Always adhere to the maximum speed limits of 4.5 km per hour, which apply in and around the Utrecht Canals.
Commercial shipping (including Harbour Service, tour boats) always has the right of way.
Make it clear to others in which direction you are sailing. Approach bridges in such a way that you are visible to potential oncoming traffic.
It is prohibited to operate a vessel under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
You may not dock to trees, under or on bridges, and at places where it is indicated by a prohibition sign.
Amplified sound is not allowed on the boats and/or dock.
There are residents around the water. Respect their privacy. Do not cause nuisance on the water or at departure/return from the Terrasboot dock.
Make sure that the boat is returned clean and tidy. If this is not the case, an amount of the deposit may be withheld.
Ensure that the boat is returned on time. If this is not the case, all incurred costs and lost income will be charged to you.
Terrasboot is not liable for damage to the boat or damage to (possession of) third parties.
